Movies--Written Analysis 4

Movies
Movies to me are a wonderful thing!  They are a vehicle for the creator to tell their story—to express their joy, excitement, fear and trauma.  They originate from anything from real life events (non-fiction) to things that are totally made up (fiction).  Movies come in all forms and fashions—documentaries, horror, drama, suspense, actions, cartoon and comedies, just to name a few.  From a literary perspective, movies can be interpreted in terms of genres--horror movies, crime dramas, or menaced-female stories--or in terms of plot, characterization and imagery (Petracca & Sorapure, p. 522).
You may find that you want to pick and choose among these various approaches (Petracca & Sorapure, p. 522).  The movies that I enjoy best are comedies and action.  Within comedies, there are parodies, gross-out comedies, black comedies, romantic comedies, comedy horrors, fantasy comedies, sci-fi comedies, military comedies and slapstick, just to name a few.  At any given time, I can watch a comedy.  It relaxes me.  It helps me to forget the everyday issues, clear my head and refocus to be my best.
I like most comedies, but my favorite ones are slapstick and physical comedies.  I love the action…I love the timing…I love the effects.  I love, love, LOVE to laugh and slapstick and physical comedies make me laugh the best.  The reason I like comedic film is because "the virtue in making film is in making it well" (Petracca & Sorapure, p. 530). I choose those comedies that I feel have been made the best and pack with comedic timing.  When I’m having a bad day, I come home and watch movies like the Rush Hour series, the Bad Boys series, the Shrek series, the Madagascar series, the Friday series, Adams Sandler movies, like Waterboy and Big Daddy and Tyler Perry movies like Madea’s Family Reunion and Meet the Browns.  If you notice, all of these movies are a blend of slapstick and action—I like to call them slaption movies.
